Ghana is most religious nation on
earth

A new survey conducted by the Gallup International Association has ranked citizens of 57 countries by their religiosity. Overall, 59% of those surveyed described themselves as religious, 23% said they are not religious, and 13% said they are convinced atheists.

The nations with the highest percentages of self-described religious persons are Ghana, Nigeria, Armenia,
Fiji, Macedonia, Romania, Iraq, Kenya,
Peru, and Brazil.

The nations with the highest percentages of self-described “convinced atheists” are China, Japan, the Czech Republic, France, South Korea, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Iceland, Australia, and Ireland.

the survey is misleading. How can you survey only over 50 countries and conclude that the country that comes top is the most religious country in a world of over 200 countries?

Some nigerian christians will say no if you ask them if they are religious. This is becos there is this new thing among them that christian is not religion. In the light of this, the best question to ask the nigerian is: do you believe in god, do you worship him, do you pray to him often?

I agree. In my church we even pray against the spirit of religion.

Ghana is one of the more Religious countries in the world, without doubt -- but personally I would discredit this whole study, because the methodology is awful and the company that carried it out is questionable.

The real Gallup do a similar poll the result of which can be found here (note the lack of haloed emoticons and angels' wings) according to which many of the countries not surveyed are found to be (in the case of places like Bangladesh and The Congo, unsurprisingly) far more religious.

But even that one only surveys 114 Countries, however Gallup are internationally recognised while WIN-Gallup seem not to be.

This survey is more about how people perceive themselves. Ghanaians may well perceive themselves to be highly religious even if, in practise, this does not follow through in the way they live. The report also claims there are 0% of convinced atheists. I personally know many atheists in Ghana so again we have to question their sample of people.
