PRESIDENT of Rockefeller Foundation, a prominent philantropic organisation based in the United States (US), Dr Judith Robin, on Tuesday, met with President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja, lauding the progress so far made, especially in the agriculture and financial management sectors in the country.

Fielding questions from State House correspondents after the meeting, she said the foundation was particularly enthusiastic after meeting with a number of ministers and assessing government policies and economic management.

According to her, “we have been very enthusiastic and have spent most of our day today with ministers of finance and agriculture, because we have a fervent belief in the productivity that we have seen and the transformation in the agric sector into a real growth sector for the economy of Nigeria.

“We have seen so many exiting innovations here and the mobilisation of the use of cassava. We have taken the cassava bread and the cake, which are very delicious and the production of rice for export and the exciting progress that we have seen in moving Nigeria from a net importer of so many foods to a net exporter.

“So, it is a triple win for this country and we are enthusiastic about what we are seeing.”

Also, Mr Strive Masi-yiwa, former chairman, Econet Wireless, lauded the achievement of the Federal Government in agriculture, as well as economic management, noting that though results did not show overnight in agriculture, the agenda would bring millions of people out of poverty.

“I just want to also endorse the policies. These are the policies we are seeing in agriculture and economic management that, based on the experience elsewhere, reflect the fact that you are going to see millions of people coming out of poverty, particularly rural people,” he said.

its thus the manifestation of GEJ's agenda to diversify the economy out-rightly. Revamping the agriculture sector alone will give Nigeria edge over some countries in the world, however much is needed to be done in other sectors too. anyways kudos to GEJ

Some people see beyond the present challenges.

only white people can see the progress in Nigeria while nigerians complain and shove cocain on their anoos out of desperation in a land of plenty. This is why multinationals and south african companies are buying the country.

People should see beyond the criticisms and just find out themselves some of the things that are really going on. Read about what this Minister of Agriculture is already doing and what he intends to do.
Always Judge for yourself

Yes they are and they are illumanati too (And before any forumite insults me, google is your friend. Educate yourself or remain in perpetual ignorance). The west lauds GEJ because he dances to the tune of their whistle. Why does the west never applaud the work of African leaders who put the interest of their nations and their citizens first? It is those African leaders who impoverish their citizens by accepting IMF and world bank policies that will make the western economies richer and African citizens poorer that the west will applaud. The black man/race just never learns. Sigh! undecided

I am not impressed. Can people be forced to eat cassava bread and cake in her (Judith Robin's) country of USA? While her mouth is saying one thing, her heart is saying another. She is probably saying in her mind, "these phucking African Niggers, we have them just where we want them." Trust gullible ignorant Nigerians to come out on this thread rejoicing.

Keep rejoicing while you stuff yourselves with stinking cassava cake and bread and put yourselves at risk for diabetes and its complications. Notice that american politicians and officials can't go to places like china because the chinese don't trust them and will not dance to the tune of their whistle. You think it is a coincidence that now that their economies in the west continue to take a nose dive, they all keep running to Africa? First it was Hillary Clinton and now it is the heiffer from rockefeller. If they care so much, why don't they help their black citizens in america who are rottening away in inner cities? Do some research on the rockefellers.

Nigerians open your eyes oh! All that glitters is not gold. These oyibo people don't care about us and never will. Enough said.
