Following Nigeria’s dismal performance at the London Olympics, President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered a total and comprehensive re-organization of the nation’s sport sector.
The Nigerian contingent to the Olympic Games failed to win any medal at the just concluded games.

Disclosing the announcement to journalists at the end of the Federal Council Meeting on Wednesday, the Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku said that the president has called for a national retreat which will involve state governors as well as the private sector to re-order priorities in the Nigerian sporting sector.

The Federal Executive Council also agreed that the disappointment in London must be the beginning of a new momentum that will place Nigerian sports at a level that will enable the country return to the glory it is known for in the field of sports.

Our presidential fucktadinho comes up with half-measure even on the rare occassions when he actually acts on anything.

Retardeen Jonathan, what we needed was not only an overhaul. A smart person would have also figured that in such a corrupt country, you should probe how the £8m pounds budgeted for the Olympics was spent.

How did the arsehole crook, Admiral Festus Porbeni, that already looked this country silly under the military era end up being sponsored as one of the delegates to the Olympics to accompany one canoe sportsman that is UK-based anyway? A single sportsman that had 3 people accompanying from Nigeria when he is not even Nigeria-based and has never lived in Nigeria or done his sport in Nigeria nor ever needed these people to achieve.

The money spent on such crooks would have been better spent on training facilities.

But Retardeen would sweep this under the carpet, change the brigade and the new brigade will come in to loot their own since they know there is never any consequence for looting. Even if there was, when you get out of jail, Retardeen will be one of the ones to come and join you in church to give glory to God.

The ministers, senators, and even Mr President pass by the decaying white elephant of the national stadium Abuja as they head to the airport. How many of them have gone there to see if the stadium can be rehabilitated and put to use all year round? Winning medals at the Olympics dont always come by chance. Good planning and strategy, good facilities, overseas trips of the athletes to test their might with the best in the world wil increase our chances of winning at least a medal even if it is iron

52 athletes with 500 officials 2.5 billion gone only for olympics.
It is only in nigeria that officials wld out numbered athletes. This thing happened in beijing olympics 4yrs ago. The government should have known this before the start of the games if they arrre being serious about re organisation of sports in nigeria.
Do you guys remember Dr. Patrick Ekeji the. D G of sports commission, this Man disgracefully stated in in his report to have used 8million naira or so to Open a FACEBOOK account for the commission.
Yet he is still sitting thr during and after the olympics. Who are the government deceiving? Abegiiii make I wack jare

Not only that there is need to develop Sports in the country. No good attention has been given to sports. If the government is expecting something from that sector they should develop it.
