ah ah i see.

no dont worry its not part of our culture. in these pictures , it so happens that these kids are taking these local made drugs. they are boys from the ghetto. there must be something done about it. undecided

no its not common or tolerated. they are doing what boys do when not under scrutiny.

Play: Scene with a harlot.
Puppeteer Alassane's performance in his native village Dundu, in the region of the town of Matameye, Niger.
On the photo: in the foreground a small tent-theatre and a sitting "interpreter" of the puppet language. The figures stuck in the ground have already played their roles.

The Entertainer of the People: The Griot

Within Hausa culture, the professional entertainer is called the “griot”.

Whenever there is a public spectacle, you can find him, doing stunts and little plays for the general amusement of the people.

His acts can be both musical and athletic,

…frightening or dangerous…

…artistic…

…or a combination of all of the above!

So what is your view on the origin of hausawa? Do you believe bayajida?

bethnals:

yes. but I do not believe he came from Iraq. Iraq is too far from here. he would have died on his way or gotten old. Remember he was quite young when he met Daurama. also there were no aeroplanes or proper ships. also there was no reason for him to come all the way just here.

He came from somewhere nearby. e was a prince of one of the nearby Chadic kingdoms.

you're confusing europeans with africans.

are ethiopians crusaders? Are they not christians?

@^^ Where is the confusion cheesy? Are the later day European 'middle ages' crusaders not against the muslims(Middle East) and later Africa exempt? Yeah, we all know the History of Ethiopia and Christianity but does that negate my opinion about the clear "Prejudice" against the Hausa/Muslims by naijaking1. Did you not read/see his post?
