Re-development Of N29B Ketu-Ikorodu Road Underway by elimokhai(m): 10:39am On Aug 20, 2012
The state’s Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, revealed this at a town hall meeting with people of Ikorodu on the presentation of 100days of the Governor in office.

According to the Commissioner, the re-development will cost N29billon with the road having 6 lanes and an integrated median demarcation for the BRT buses to ply.

Other features that will be developed include; pedestrian bridges designed to allow ease of access for commuters while preventing access by non-users and barriers that ensure unhindered movement for the buses.

The contractor, Chinese Construction Company, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, (CCECC) has already moved to site and buildings that would be demolished for the demarcation are already being marked for the road expansion.

He revealed plans by the state government to create alternative road for Ikorodu given the traffic count and increase in the number of residents.

He added that the project, based on the initial survey will see the road cross from Ojodu/Berger to Isawo.

Linking Ogun

Dr Hamzat also stated that the state government has concluded plans to partner with neigbouring Ogun State to redevelop three roads that are linking of their border communities.

The roads are the Ikorodu – Sagamu Road, the Akute-Ojodu/ Berger road and Epe –Ijebu Ode road.

According to him, there had been fruitful discussion between the two State Governments to facilitate the quick delivery of the projects.

He added that in the face of nil response from the Federal Government which has responsibilities for the road, it has become expedient for the States to act in the interest of the people.

Why are the Yoruba people this progressive? If the Niger Bridge connected Lagos and Ogun, you bet another would have been built long before now and if Ibadan was Onitsha, the Yoruba people won't wait for the FG to dredge the Niger River

These guys don't wait for handouts from the FG but take charge and make things happen

Re: Re-development Of N29B Ketu-Ikorodu Road Underway by elimokhai(m): 5:00pm On Aug 22, 2012
the construction site is 80% completed, I see Ikorodu transforming to Lekki in another three years. Planning to acquire some plots of land as it is evident the prices will be skyrocketed by 500% in a relatively short time.

Why you dey reason like fowl?!

Lagos that is doing all these was built with federal government money o!!

Outside of Lagos, name one other Yoruba state, town or city that is as developed as lagos?!

All Lagos is doing is capitalizing on what the Federal Government has done for them..

Dont ever take shots at Ndi Igbos like that ever again.. angry

Do you know how much IGR Lagos State makes?! Compare it with Anambra State that has never been a Country Capital.
