Dollarman101:And we still experience massive crude oil theft. It shows that there are indeed safeguarding our waterways,no wonder GEJ was confused over this matter during his last media chat after squandering billions on crooks |

"While defending the government action, which Okupe said was done by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, he said, “Since this exercise began, the crude oil production has jumped from 1.8mbpd to 2.6mbpd. “That is an increment of over $700m income per day to the government. So, when you compare what was paid to get this benefit, it pales into insignificance.” This government is a hostage to terrorist/militant organisations. Boko haram will soon get their own payoff thereby encouraging more "freedom fighters" to emerge. |

It appears that we have forgotten so soon that the fight by the militants to control their resources almost grounded the Nigerian economy. The eploration workers all ran away, production was almost at zero level. With almost no income coming to the nation. Government needed to do something to stop this as the last resort since force couldnt solve the problem. If the price for oil production and income generation to continue is just 5.6b, is it not better we pay? Afterall,in the Gulf region and the persian countries in asia Individuals,Families,Communities own and cotrol the oil resources on their land and only pays TAX to the government but, here in Nigeria the government grabs it from them for nothing, the little 5.6b that is not even enough for them to share, unfair Nigerians are still complaining. WHAT AN INJUSTICE! |

Joey82: So you need an economist to explain why we still borrow to you despite the fact that we earn so much on a daily basis? THE ANSWER IS CORRUPTION. By the time the rogues in the presidency steal their portion, crooks in the national assembly steal theirs, ministers, governors, LG chairmen, parastatal big guns, etc etc. That is why Nigerians will never allow honest men like Buhari or me to become President cos they know what their fates will be. We urgently need to clean up this country. It stinks to heaven |

As long as the pipelines are secured the investment is worthwhile. Boko Haram should come up with a meaningful economic/security project. |

phraze: Tho 23rd to comment i honestly feel i should have been 1st. Lol ok back to the Topic; Great News. Sometimes you have to spend money to make more money. Paying the Militant Activists' that money is reasonable. Sir Ken ( R.I.P ) must be turning in his grave right now. I hail the Incentive. Its true that you have to spend money to make money, but would this govt have paid if those millitants had not been Ijaw? 2. What happens if a new govt is in place when GEJ's end? 3. Is the govt also paying communities to secure pipe lines where they pass thru? 4. Isn't this a bad precedence? 5. What is the job of the navy, if not also to guard coasts? Nigeria's matter tire me, honestly. Sometimes, i am happy to be away, but its still my country. I feel bad! |

DOYIN OKUPE IS A MAN YOU WILL PACK A LOAD OF SHIIIT IN THE MOTHER'S MOUTH YET WILL HAVE A WAY OF SAYING IT'S RIGHT JUST BECAUSE OF MONEY. THE QUESTION HE SHOULD ANSWER IS THIS: IF THE NIGER DELTA MILITANTS HAVE BEEN SETTLED THROUGH AMNESTY PROGRAME AND IF WE HAVE A POTENT ARMED FORCES, THEN OF WHAT USE IS THE MONEY JONATHAN IS DOLING OUT YEARLY TO THESE NAMED EX-MILITANT LEADERS? NIGERIANS DESERVE A PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS ISSUE THROUGH THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY. |
