Has anyone on Nairaland built a PC, as in assemble a PC.
I am currently working on building one.

Nice specs, also why not include a wireless card with it and how much did it cost to build this ? Just remembered increase the hard disk size

hard disk not enough? i think its ok. 160GB, I wont be saving many things apart from movies. and songs, n few games.
my budget is around £300 but this one is approximately £315.84.

im also thinking of getting this case.

I won't be able to see that cause am on wap. Since you'd only be saving few songs and games 160 would be ok. Am thinking of building a mean machine, with HD 500gb and atleast 2gb of ram. It would serve as a test lab for crazy experiments. But its got to wait till after i get my laptop and finish my exams in june God's willing.

I, myself, used to be PC builder to assemble a PC, I still do consulting clients for advise/questions about Do-It-Yourself PC builder.

In my opinion on the following below:

[li]If you have few movies, few songs and few games on 160GB HDD then it will be fine. But if you are movie/song/game freak to download lot daily basis, then I suggest you increasing either 250GB HDD or 500GB HDD. The alternative method if you are not afford increasing HDD storage space, then you MUST BUY one or two bulk of 10, 25, 50, or 100 pack in spindle of blank CD/DVD disks to burn/rip your favorite music/movie/game files in order to delete/clean up your hard disk space maintainance weekly basis manually at least save 50-100GB that eat up all your music/movie/game files space after finish burning CD/DVD disk(s).[/li]



[li]If you have your own digital camera or cellphone built-in camera that has either USB port or MicroSD compatible or bluetooth/WIFI capability, then you need 6 or 7 in 1 internal Floppy Disk/Card Reader-Writer drive (one for Floppy disk, one for MicroSD, one for Multimedia card, one for Memory stick, one for SmartMedia card, one for Compact Flash card, and one for MicroDrive).[/li]



[li]If you already have laptop or 2nd older PC, then I suggest you to add ethernet card for either router, or bluetooth or WIFI connection to hook up for 2nd PC or laptop within 50-300 feet length around your house/apartment. Best Network brand name: Linksys WIFI support wireless router for main PC and Linksys wireless-G 802.11 b/g standard network adapter (device:either USB or PCcard) for 2nd PC/laptop.[/li]



[li]Don't forget to install or download anti-virus/spyware/mareware/popup blocker/phishing protection software.[/li]

that would be far above my budget.
