MTN prepaid customers aimed at rewarding
customers with x5 (500%) of their spend
on local (MTN2MTN or
MTN2Others) calls based on their required
daily usage.
Below is a summary of MTN 5* Bonus
mechanics:
* Every prepaid customer has been placed
on a required daily usage.
* A customer will be required to make on-
net or off-net calls up to
and more than her/his daily usage on a
particular day to get the 500%
bonus.
* For a customer to participate in the MTN
5* Bonus, s/he will be
required to opt-in by texting 507 to 131 or
dialling *507# .
* The system will then activate the bonus
and notify her/him of the
required daily usage. For example: You can
now enjoy the MTN 5* Bonus. Spend up
to N50 on local calls and get N250 for your
MTN2MTN calls. Bonus valid
till 12 midnight.
* When the customer makes either MTN-to-
MTN or MTN-to-Others calls,
the system will begin to add up the total
naira value spent.
* At the end of each local (MTN-to-MTN or
MTN-to-Networks) call, a
customer will get an End of Call Notification
message showing how much
s/he have spent,
how much more airtime s/he needs to be
spend to reach the
required daily usage and amount of bonus
s/he will receive. For
example:
You have spent Nxxx today. Spend up to
Nyyy on calls to
local numbers to receive Nzzz airtime bonus
for MTN2MTN calls valid
till midnight.
* As soon as the customer reaches her/his
daily usage, the system
will automatically credit the customer's on-
net voice dedicated
account with 500% airtime
bonus and the customer will receive a
notification message.
For example, if a customer daily threshold is
NGN50.00 and she/he
makes local calls up to NGN50.00 that day,
she/he will receive NGN250 airtime bonus.
Example: "You have
received N250 for MTN2MTN calls, valid till
midnight today.
* At 11:59pm (23:59) of that day, all unused
5* bonus will be cleared
and the total spend for the day will re-set to
0.
* At 12:00am (00:00) on Day 2, the same
will happen - When the
customer makes either MTn2MTn or
MTn2Other calls, the system will
begin to add up the naira value
spent and when the customer have reached
or exceeded
her/his daily usage, s/he will receive 500%
of her/his threshold.
* A customer will also be able to find out
her/his required daily by
dialling *507*1#.
* A customer will also be able to check how
much s/he have spent and
how much more airtime s/he need to spend
to reach her/his daily
threshold in
order to receive the bonus, by dialling
*507*2#.
* The 5* bonus can ONLY be used for MTN-
to-MTN calls (excluding roaming) calls.
* Customers will only qualify to receive the
bonus ONCE a day. This
means that a customer can only receive the
bonus ONCE in a day even if

multiple times a day.
* Customer can check their 5* Bonus by
