The FBI warns that the violence caused by the muslim reaction to a "blasphemous movie" could spread to the USA.

The blasphemous movie is called "innocence of muslims" and has caused violent outrage across some muslim majority countries like Libya, Lebanon and Egypt.

However, the attack on the US consulate in Libya seems to be complex and professionally executed. The film could have been used as a pretext to rile people up and get a cloak under which to attack the embassy.




The sad thing about the whole issue on Nairaland is that the muslims never open threads to condemn the violence and pray for the families of the dead during the riots. They wait for a non-muslim to post on the issue and then say that it is all political and then call the poster an islamophobe. The comments condemning theviolence is usually no more than a line from muslims then the remainder of the post will serve as a reminder that it is all political.

The one that pains me most is that LagosShia will put threads praying for muslim victims and crirticising the West for propaganda against islam but will never put up a thread for the non-muslim victims of violence from muslim majority countries.

No one is saying that all muslims are violent or supporters of terrorism. Speaking up honestly on these issues without blaming the USA everytime is the only wa forward for Nairaland muslims. Silence on evil is indirect acceptance of it.

This is not a fight. All people want is common sense to prevail. When issues like this happen, muslims should speak up rather than let people assume that they are silent on these issues.
