lots of similarities, we offer zoology, maths,eng,chem,phy,comp,bio and some GST courses such as philosophy and english. While in 2nd semester we offer botany and sm other courses.

Guy u realy need to study hard. But come to think of it, 300 year one medics is outrageously high, i just pray that u will be able to cross to COMED,cos ur passion for medicine is not indoubt. But u have to be ware of those diploma students, and also remember that it is nt all about jacking, but the God's factor goes a long way. Don't leave ur tees uncross and ur i's undotted, i beleive God we surely see u through.

Lagusta are u sure about that?....I thought dissection of cadavers would start when we are in 400 or 500 level!....am kinda scared about. Touching a dead body in 200 level! Pls who has done this before? And hw is the experience like?...are there pple who freak out?

my oga lagusta....sorry for leaving u since....the issue of dissecting cadava wetin dy dia..?....u will start in ur 200L and stop in ur 300L.....400L na posting with living humans...dont worry earn ur ticket into the college proper before u talk about dissecting cadava's

Bros, I hav been in medical school for 6yrs now, and since then, I haven't heard of ANY medical school dissecting cadavers at 400 or 500l...

I have dissected cadavers before... And I just picture them as dummies...

Moreover, most of the bodies are usually armed robbers shot dead or madmen, or others that hav been unclaimed for a long time!!!

If you really want to be a doctor, you have to remove the element of fear in you!!! You have to be strong, from handling dead bodies to breaking bad news to loved ones...

Dissection starts @ 200L... Could be during your first or second posting, depending on the school

Also, you will be grouped with different cadavers, depending on availability...

But like someone said, please pass your 100L courses first... Then we can start thinking of cadavers...

Hematology: the study of blood and blood components... Here you will be dealing with all the components of blood I.e blood cells and plasma. You will also study the disorders associated with each component e.g hemolytic anaemias, thrombocytopenic pupura, and some malicnancies like leukemia and lymphoma


Immunology: the study of the body defense system. Here you will study in detail the different ways the body defends itself from allergens, microbes, etc... You will also study some disorders, especially auto-immune disorders like systemic lupus erythromatosus, goodpasture's disease, contact dermatitis, etc...
