First step; RUN a Scan on the vehicle before changing any part in your vehicle.

of course, u should run a scan if u can afford it. It is really advisable. It seems as if ur fuel pump is weak. JERKING OF A CAR AND RELUCTANCE TO ACCELERATION are signs of a weak fuel pump. have this at the back of ur mind.

do these first before scanning,it helped me
1-drain the water inside d radiator nd refill with either coolant or water,never use a mixture of both nd if its water u want to use,let is be clean
2-it could be a fault on your timing belt,if 1 doesnt work am sure reseting d belt wil fix this for you

on a first thought i would assume this is a sign of your fuel pump failing...speaking from personal experience...drove a 99 camry for a short period. but ultimately, a scan would suffice to reveal what the issue is..

The best way of knowing the conditions of fuel pump and FPR is by checking the fuel pressure with fuel pressure guage. The psi will tell you if the pressure is below factory or not.

I have made an attempt to purchase the pressure guage, but the one i saw was too fake to work. Am still working on getting one.

go for a scan,but had dis same issue last month on my tc'97,d scan revealed d h20 in my radiator has an abnormal temperature,in my case,d hessitation gets worst wen i switch on d aircondition...i found awt d h20 was too dirty nd i replaced it,nd it worked fine with d check engine icon on d dashbord off completely

don't you think you could get it in Nigeria's commercial hub (lagos)? I personally will like too have one cos i had a little issue with my BMW fuel pump,currently the one installed was from a japanese car 'cos i couldn't get one meant for my car...though my mechanic told me it 'd work for long but i've placed order for a new one from a bmw dealer...
Back to topic,
take it to a competent toyota shop, let them investigate the cause of what you are experiencing...but a TPS check will also be important

But, you are yet to tell us what was the culprit, because there is nothing in a car called nozzle.

To help you out. What does it look like? Like a spark plug or a cylinder?

@ikenna, actually i googled nozzle online but didnt find it also, but according to my local mechanic that's what he calls it. Any it looks like a long pipe with 4or 5 different mouth pumping out fuel in little quantity to the engine for combustion i guess. but ill get you a picture latter today.

Dont worry about sending the picture. I got it now, from your description above.

What you call pipe is called "Fuel Rail". While what you described as mouths spraying fuel (mounted on intake manifold) into the combustion chambers are called "Injector(s)".

You can google fuel rail and Injector to see if that how yours look.

I had a similar issue with The same brand . A scan suggested engine mis firing,we then changed the fuel pump and filters yet it continued. I changed all the plugs yet it continued.only to stop when we changed the plug cables

I'm just like a white stocking on this thread. Then I must confess that I've been learning a lot from ur contributions here, but this issue of black smoke emitting from my Camry 99 v4 exhaust still persists even after changing 3 different Air flow metres on it. One of them gives white smoke, but hesitates on high speed. The ones that gave black smoke don't hesitate on high speed. In both cases, my fuel suffers as they consume fuel like hell. But there's no 'Check engine light' signal yet on the dashboard. I just don't know what to do again. Can anyone help me with a guide on getting a manual for v4 Camry 99 model as well as a link to getting a scanning kit? I need to give it a trial with these on my own. One has really spent a lot on this issue without success yet. I need your help pls. Thanks.

Recently, my corolla trips off and starts back on slow speed tho sometimes I'll have to kick it myself again and it hesitates a little to pick up from a red light.

N.B : It idles normal and runs well.

I use Opel vectra B, 1999 model.
my engine was very dirty So I went to a car wash and wash the engine.
After the wash the engine start but was not sounding well or moving as it used to. The plugs was removed one after The other and The water was blew out. After that The engine refused to start and when it managed to start after much effort it will be vibrating but after 5-10minutes it will be stable but the moment I engage the gear to R or D( reverse or Drive) the engine will go off.

I have done all I can for 10 days now the car will not start at first kick and if it manage to start after much effort it will not move a yard before going off.

Please, I need help.

I have been considering doing so any time the engine of my ride will be changed as it is said that a 2.0L engine consumes lesser fuel than that of 2.2L. Moreso, does it involve any work on constructions in the ride? Pls help.

Why not scan and post some pictures of the engine first so they can tell you what to look for if your car has a problem.

Downgrading your car to a smaller older engine will be a very dumb thing to do, mechanics will sell you that idea so that when it is don'e improperly they will get you to spend more money now that your car is totally dead., by the end of they day you will sell the car to them to pay them.

It is really a stupid thing for you to think you can spend N1000 to save N1 in fuel cost if they sell you that idea and you buy it you are the real maga
