Except China,Russia and France, America will defeat any of those listed countries with forces stationed in just 10 states in its union.As for Nigeria, the forces stationed only in Rhode Island with one aircraft carrier to support them will make it cease to exist in 2 weeks.

in war I don't see any body pulling of a invasion. Russia and china could decided to end it all in one big boom(the other nations can not reach the USA) but they not suicidal. Stopping a usa invasion is different there are a lot of countries that can pull that off.

In sports now that is hard because in rugby, football(soccer) or cricket they know where near the top. In swimming on the men's side since there star is now retired I would say SA.

In economy. They have 2 trillion dollar debt (but who going to loan shark the biggest boy on the bloke) so there is your answer.

In RnD I would say Japan

In fact the op shows serious misunderstanding of the history of superpowers. They ALL eventually implode from within. Egypt, Rome, Greece, the Soviet Union, the Maya - all were destroyed because they all eventually ran against the noble foundational principles that led to their rise to the top. Human nature is such that decadence/greed/complacency/arrogance always creep in once a power is at its peak of influence and wealth, leading to its decline. Same will happen to the USA and Western Europe. In fact it's already happening. So it's not a question of ''which country can defeat America'', but rather, ''how long before America finally destroys itself?''
