The Obamacare RFID Microchip Rumour by ciphoenix: 9:02am On Oct 05, 2012
The New Health Care (Obamacare) law H.R. 3200 section 2521 pg. 1001 paragraph 1 requires all US citizens to have the RIFD implanted
ObamaCare makes RFID chips mandatory March 23, 2013.
Official `Obamacare` bill requires all Americans to be Microchipped by 2013.

This is an Internet rumour that claims Obamacare (or other variants state the "law" H.R. 3200) will require all American citizens to be microchipped with RFID chips by 2013.

The rumour is totally false. The Obamacare bill (or H.R. 3590 - The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) does not mention any where in its text about any requirement to have Americans be implanted with RFID microchips.

Variants of the message have instead quoted the "law" H.R. 3200. However H.R. 3200 is not law. It was an unsuccessful bill that did not pass Congress as it was rejected by the House of Representatives . And just like the"Obamacare" bill it too did not mention any where in its text about implanting all Americans with RFID microchips. This failed bill was regarding creating a national registry of implanted devices in US patients such as pacemakers, in order to obtain more accurate statistics.

These rumours are the result of silly conspiracy theories started by people who cannot read or comprehend the difference between a bill and a law. The mere notion of microchipping all US citizens is absurd considering almost every US citizen would vehemently oppose such an idea and that is not to mention that any politician endorsing such a controversial measure would essentially be comitting political suicide.
So there is no need to worry about the US government implanting citizens with a microchip. It is not going to happen.
The Internet is the perfect platform for starting and spreading viral rumours. Hundreds and thousands of false rumours are passed between Internet users every single day, be it through email, forums or social networking sites. Some rumours accumulating prolific and worldwide circulation.
