Nigeria's only representative left in this year's CAF champions league, Sunshine stars of Akure have crashed out after losing their second leg tie to Al Ahly of Egypt in Cairo


Ahly were 1-0 winners on the night, marching through 4-3 on aggregate and onto a meeting with North African rivals Esperance next month.

Gedo gave them the lead on 28 minutes, shooting high past Ayodele for his third goal in the two-legged semi final encounter.

The Eqyptians went on to win the game by a single goal and 4-3 on aggregate. Kudos to our boys though. This was their first outing in the CAF champions and the did us proud.

I knew their chances to qualify after the 3-3 draw at Akure was slim. Nice campaign from them anyways.

That match was sooo boring to watch. The Sunshine FC players did not show any reason why they want to win. No tactics, no cohesive play and even individual skill was lacking. The team should do a total overhauling as the players looked quite old and stiff. They just ended up punishing the man in the goal as goal keeper.

they weren't good at when they were at home in Nigeria, i watched the game and the Egyptian side were more organized in passes and control of the ball than SunShine Stars.

but all the same, they've tried at least to get to the semi finals.
