There was a fire outbreak at a portion of Balogun Market Fire on Martins Street, Euro-Asia Plaza Breadfruit Lagos Island today.


Cause of fire isn't known at the moment.


In the pic, you will see a Fire Service Crane attempting to rescue people trapped in the building as the smoke thickens and traders throw their goods from upper floor of the building and a crowd gathers.

The fire service actually looks like they are really prepared for emergencies.The crane alone is enough evidence.

This is an incident site which is suppose to be cordoned off to enable enable effective rescue operation. But see how the crowd is clustering at the base of the building; if any explosion or the building collapses, casualty figure will definitely rise and we will start blaming our leaders for inaction.
Please, let's be wise.

Does that number really work? I called it two weeks ago, when bus drivers were fighting on Ikorodu rd. and butchering themselves as if it's ram we are talking about. The number didn't even ring talk less of somebody picking it. NEMA still has a lot to do..
