1. PATRIOTISM: All Americans in front of the white house held/waved the American flag as soon as the result was announced. A guy displayed
placard with the inscription 'America is working'...The Nigerian flag would have been exchanged for either bunch of brooms or umbrella here and the inscription 'America is working' would have been 'Goodluck Shamed his enemies'

2.SPORTSMANSHIP: Mitt Romney never waited for 24 hours before accepting defeat and congratulating Barack Obama neither did the republican party declare 'observing the outcome of the election before taking possible action'...Here, the loser would have gone to the tribunal before the result is declared and even when court uphold the election of the winner, no congratulatory message will be sent across.

3.RESPONSIBLE MEDIA: Throughout the election period, US based CNN, the BBC, Aljazeera, Fox News and all other notable media around the world were all pre-occupied reporting situation across America...Our Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) would rather televise the osun oshogbo festival or the Argungu fishing festival.

*Yawns* Don't you guys get tired of recycling these old stuff? These are not the first elections held by the U.S.A and they won't be the last. If we have not learned anything from the old ones, what new things will the 2012 ones teach us?

So many lessons @op.. I marvel @ the wavelength of our reasoning atimes.
Re: Lessons From The Us Election by Kslib(m): 11:37am On Nov 07, 2012
One thing i learnt from the election...
We are not alone: in as much as we have high figures/personalities who try to act foolishly and refuse to accept defeat after an election,so does the US..
Eg: DONALD TRUMP

I'm supposed to be sleeping lol. I read something interesting on Yahoo. Many of us were impatient with Romney as he was beginning to sound bitter about Ohio and took his time (well over an hour after he lost) to concede to the president. Anyway, he took the stage and gave a brief speech. According to his aides, he had no concession speech planned. Meaning? This was one of the few times we got to hear Mitt Romney speak from the bottom of his heart, the same heart I once deemed nonexistent. Mind you, his speech was a good one. I appreciated his kind words, especially when he said he would pray for President Obama to lead the US in the right direction.

This was good, but it gets better. Apparently, Romney had his people stream President Obama's victory speech on his website, www.mittromney.com. That is the epitome of class. Part of the reason why I've despised Romney in the last few months is because he sold his soul for a shot at the White House. The old Mitt Romney, of which I'm familiar, is far kinder and more human. I'm referring to the moderate Mitt Romney that drafted Romneycare into Massachusetts. He was there, just hiding. If the Romney we briefly saw tonight was contesting against President Obama, we may have had a different winner.

This was just to build on sportsmanship. I give him my respect for that.

ROMNY accepted defeat and congratulates the winner and wish him him best of luck in his admimistration other than promising to victimise the administration or going to tribunal

Yeah right
Go over the border to Ghana and see losing candidates conceding defeat tongue tongue
I recall listening to a lawyer on TV once saying he entered a law bookshop in the UK and was told they had no texts/books on election tribunals
Yet such tribunals is always a big pay day for Nigerian lawyers seeing they are the ones who goad on the politicians even before the results are announced embarassed embarassed
