Probably u wil not be applying for such position (Accountant) in the oil coy with that, i wil advice u do the following; do some PM Programms, i recommend u (Primavela 9 or Ms Project) with that you can apply as a project planner and risk assesment tracker, or you jst try to work with any of the sub-contractors of those coy, with that u get familiar with the enviroment. If your now applying for any position to any of the coy after which u hav worked wit subs, they are likely to give u a chance since ur familiar with their policy now. And more so, working with the subs first will give you the opportunity to meet with the key personnels, geting to knw them will give u an edge then, irespective of ur qualification.

First Let me start By Saying Happy New Year to you Brother.

I really need ur advice on this issue.

I studied Environmental Resource Management with 2.2 (3.46 CGPA)

I HAVE done few courses with OSHAcademy eg.
Oil spill clean up
HSE 1,2&3

I have good swimming skill. Though not certified skill cos I learnt it on my own at home pool.

I have made a vow with God that this year I will land a job that can take me far in career.

I want to join oil coy. Please I want to know if my certificate can qualify me to land this job and what next do I need to do. I don't have any connection as per who to guide me.

I have good IT skill. I can play with M's excel very well and Tally accounting.

I have realised I need to start from somewhere, so I took up a Customer Care Representative (CCR) with one telecommunication company in Nigeria.

Sir I really need your help to lift me from here.
I am very Willing to serve n work.

I am rugged and strong, I do not fear Water or any job. I can take up any position to start with. Please my number is 08138681191
Mail: zierawdgnomic@gmail.com
Thank you all for Assistance and help. God bless

@mko....nothing of real substance happen automatically...You just stand a huge chance of being employed...its a step in the right direction if thats your direction in the first place.....as u keep brooding over it God will respond to u.....so its not a matter of whether if u do the course u will get a job.....negative tots should not lead u in the path of inaction...no good thing comes so easy....May God help you.....

Hi bro thanks for your contributions here. Please how do I get one of these coy to apply for volunteer while I gain experience. I will appreciate it a whole lot. I really need to change my position this year. Thank you

Hello Guys! Lets share our exprience in our respective companies, the challanges we face, the good tidings of each companies and compare it with each. The main reasons i'm doing this here, is because i got loads of mail from Nairalanders, asking me to give them crew about all this companies concerning the post i made some time ago.

Here we go. I have worked in the following companies they have their good and their bad. (1) MOBIL (PH): here i jst worked as a contract staff so no much benefit or packages for me as being a contract staff.

(2) AgipsadBrass Island Bayelsa) I Worked as HSE Adviser here, left them many years back due to they don't pay their staff on time.

(3) NLNG, (Bonny Island R/State) one of the best. If not the best everybody would wish to work with, I worked as SAP Team member here, they have good tidings and good packages for their staff (not contractors staff) one of the good thing i like about them is, they allow their staff to make use of their hilux outside the company site unlike other coys,, to go with it and flex as much as u can without much limitations, they pay their staff every last friday of every month,

They often host party for their staff/ the host community last saturday of every month.

(4)SPDC (Bonny Island) Currently working here as Network/System Admin . Though they are good, but not like Shell we use to know before, since most directors now are naija made lol, and they more into contracting jobs unlike before, things has really changed. though they still pay well but not as it used to be , but their policy is not easy to maintain. The only advantage of working with them is their (Electronic ID) Which permits/gives u access to all the shell terminal nation wide and beyond, and it gives u access to eat in any of their (SPDC Canteen) and their ID enables you to have access to their internet service when you slot it in their customize keyboard. You wil as well enjoy what they call (HAPPY HOUR) is a party that comes up every last friday of the month.

You can sign in about (5) of ur friends using ur ID card, they will be offered free drinks and foods all night in the party. Top naija artists use to performing live during the party.

Omo come see chicks begging you to sign them in, u just dey form like...eh." but you don't dare go out with any Spdc hilux out of the terminal except on official duty, but i guess is due to the IVMS which monitors your speed limits, that might affect the audit during the monthly vehicles inspection audit.

Feel free to shares urs let's have fun of it ( sorry i'm typing through my phone so the text might lack formatting and lots of typooooo.
