Siena & Ikenna Please Advice Me Accordingly: Can I Use R124a For My Car Ac? by temmydude: 2:45pm On Nov 23, 2012
The AC system of my car is working well, but the gas is not satisfactorily helping to keep the sweat under my pores, now that the rains are over. I need to get it chilling like a cold room if possible!.

I read somewhere on this educative site; NL sometime back that R124A can be used to charge up the cooling system of a car. How possible and reliable this is, i do not really know. But i know very well that R134A is good. But i don't know if R124A is better.

Could it be that R124A is the new magic or trick that peps up the chilling effect in cars?.

Please advice me accordingly. Thanks for your time and effort.

Your system is designed for one type of refrigerant and it will be written on your bonnet the sticker with a.c. Written on it.
Your car should be r134a so replace with same type, but fix the source of your leak first.

R12a has not been used in a long time its actually banned so I'm surprised Ikenna could still refill his pug when he could have retro fit to new system

I keep refill my car ac like fuel. Two attempts but the technicians can't find where it leaks.

Your advise pls.

Any R134-A leak will always be visible with the right tools. What's your technician doing the checks with?
