Good day house. I own a translation company and I am looking for English Ibibio/Efik translator. It is a paid job and on part time. Location is not a barrier as it is going to be through mail/online. 07037348181. ebony4pink@gmail.com

kenis:
Please, I desperately want to learn this language. I study in Calabar and have a girlfriend from Akwa-Ibom. I learnt that she get excited each time a try to speak it (even when I don't know what i was talking about). I have other female and male friends too. I don't want to learn it from them. I want to surprise them.

I want to learn it word by word or phrase by phrase. Speak, and then brake it down by word. I saw a thread opened by Odumchi but people where just speaking (writing) without translating. Always translate please.

Please lets start with the common phrases or word.
Thank

ooh! I'm already excited myself......

Teach me Mbok!!
Mbok mbok mbok. Hahaaha

eyo = no
afo = you
subidem = hurry up
mi = i
noh = give

and it would be nice if you make phrase after listing the words. Can i say :
noh mi phone '

thank Ndibe

It's not eyo, it's iyo for no
Spelling of give for Ibibio is nọ

"Mfina ibagha means "no problem."

Gboliwe:

1. Abadie?
2. Aba kemmo?
3. Eka uke?
4. Emesere
5. Same as above
6. Nsongsong
7. No idea
8. Emeyong/ amedie

I wish this thread will continue.

The newest one I learnt is "isi mmemme oo". It means " e no easy ooo"

Tuface made "Nfreibagha" popular, I only knew it was ibibio when I went to Uyo. It means "no problem"
