The people around me act like giving a man flower is just not right. Is there a law against it? I know most men think is a waste of money but I really see nothing wrong in giving flowers to a man. Esp if the guy is your husband. Please guys lets dicuss this, are you for or against this? |

considering the fact that this is even an African forum, 90% of man will view this as truly repulsive. Most of them hardly buy flowers for their lady love.  1 Like |

rokiatu:I will rephrase something i said in a thread minutes ago. One bad thing about Nigerians,is that we mix cultures a lot. Giving flowers to a lady as a sign of love and romance isn't our thing.we only copied from 'them'...i give my g.f flowers to fulfil 'romanceness'.in a day or two,she dumps it in the garbage can with my knowledge.Obviously,we both understand she has no need for it after it has fulfilled its purpose,which is-showing love and care. |

sending or giving flowers to a man looks unorthodox, I wouldnt buy flowers for a man. It seems a little strange and besides, what kind of man WILL want this and appreciate this and even be proud of this .. |

Hi Rokiatu, This made me think of one time....when I used to grow these huge vegetable and flower gardens.I was head over heels for this guy who also liked growing things and one day I brought him a big beautiful bouquet of flowers I grew. Lilys, snapdragons, larkspur, daisys, etc. He was thrilled and a couple days later he brought me a bunch of corn he grew.Hehe! I suppose it can depend on the guy who your giving to,but hopefully a man can recognize a gift from the heart and just enjoy it and "smell the flowers" |

Because I have been evolving in how I criticize others' relationships, I'd say that a woman should buy her man flowers if she knows beforehand that he likes it. However, she shouldn't make such an assumption, especially if he is a Nigerian man. Of course, men shouldn't make this assumption either because I have bought flowers for women who didn't like flowers. Nevertheless, it is socially acceptable for men to be wrong about this than vice-versa. By the way, 27th to comment. Glory be to Almighty Obatala. |

I don't mind giving him flowers and even stones he will surely appreciate it too. A man that truly loves you will always appreciate anything that comes from you.
