Nigerians get carried away by sentiments too much.

The same man that massively stole money when he was in office and forced our current inept president into power is the one you people are praising as if he is a saint. Una don forget wetin he do when he dey office because you see him dancing.

xandy84: Sometimes i find it difficult to understand some people.... He danced and you have a problem with it... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

After seeing your comments, I begin to believe the findings that say the average IQ of an african is below 70.

You expect me to be happy or thrilled to see a man who looted the country's wealth, left millions in penury and tainted our nascent democracy with corruption and evil dancing right?

Think before you talk

delors: This man is the man...like him or hate him...he is living his life to the fullest...joo oooh grin!
(O ya, onyi nairaland haters, start yabbing him. I no know how many of una hating fada dey half successful as this idol?)

People like you are evidence that there is little or no hope for Nigeria. This man stole and stole and stole without fear, compassion or regard for the livelyhood of the common man yet you celebrate and adulate him. Slavery may have ended, but many people ate still enslaved by their mentality.

Just wait, when I rise to power and loot billions, I will dance for you and then I do hope you praise me then

The ugliest president Nigeria has ever produced.

And he is the most greedy of them all. At the same time, he loves power more than any other president in Nigeria. He virtually wanted to make himself a life president. No other president has ever stolen 18 billion dollars in the name of IPP and yet he never produced a single kilowatt.

He just disgraced himself in Ghana and AU has vowed never to send him on any observer mission again bc the man is extremely corrupt. The opposition party in Ghana just went to court yesterday bc they have evidence of electoral fraud and all fingers are pointing to the same OBJ.
He should go back to otta farm and continue feeding with the monkeys and gorillas in his farm. Those primates needs him, Nigerians does not need these crop of greedy bastards anymore...

Role Model: Obasanjo “inspires Nigerian youth” on MTV Meets

Chief Obasanjo and MTV Base VJ Vanessa Mdee on MTV Base Meets With MTN

by Akan Ido

Politician, ex-soldier, farmer, and two-time former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, will be featured on MTV Base Meets with MTN.

Chief Obasanjo met with MTV Base VJ Vanessa Mdee and a group of ambitious and passionate young people at his home in Abeokuta in Ogun State, Nigeria in June 2012 as part of the MTV Base Meets… with MTN mentorship and youth empowerment initiative, which connects thought leaders and influencers with young people.

The former president had inspirational words for the young members people on the interview panel. He advised them to find their area of competence in life and maintain focus so as to achieve success.

He said, “You must make up your mind what you want out of life. That thing that you have chosen, you must never give up. Whatever your hands and your head find to do: do it with all your might!”

Alex Okosi and Chief Obasanjo on MTV Base Meets With MTN

In retirement, the former president keeps himself busy with a flourishing farming business and still finds time to act as an UN envoy, and play an active part in the African Leadership Forum (ALF), the not-for-profit organisation designed to help improve the quality of leadership in Africa while at the same time helping to train the next generation of leaders for the continent.

Other topics to be covered by Chief Obasanjo include the value of education, pivotal moments in his life, the joy he found during his time in prison (where he grew maize for all the inmates), and his love of dancing and music – particularly Bob Marley!

The programme premieres on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 and terrestrial stations across the continent, including STV, Nigeria.

Preventive Diplomacy in the DRC

In response to growing tension in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in fall 2008, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon deployed a Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region. Special Envoy Olusegun Obasanjo, a former Nigerian President, engaged in intense shuttle diplomacy in search of a negotiated peace in the eastern DRC. Collaborating with the International Conference for the Great Lakes Region, these efforts resulted, within just a few weeks, in complex peace talks under UN auspices.

The talks led to a set of agreements by March 2009, foreseeing the demobilization and disarmament of rebel groups and measures to address their underlying grievances. With ongoing engagement by the Special Envoy to monitor progress, the bulk of the commitments were implemented within less than a year. In late 2009, President Kagame of Rwanda and President Kabila of the DRC met for the first time in many years, and shortly thereafter the two countries resumed formal diplomatic relations. While the situation in the eastern DRC remains serious in terms of generalized insecurity and humanitarian suffering, renewed regional war was averted
