I just read on Nigeria Info 99.3's facebook page that an amazing 509,000 candidates applied for 1,500 slots on the on going Inec Recruitment drive 2012. Nawa o! There are rumours and concerns that "longlegism" has entered, as some influential Nigerians have began submitting names.  As for me, i be spectator o- i don't apply for such jobs. Good luck to all the applicants...i pray "you" are one of the 1,500s. Amen! 4 Likes |

So what? Even here in UK, last year our graduate recruitment got about 300 'strong' applications for 4 positions. Looking at the ratio, it is almost within the same range. Moreso, you will find out that not all the 500k applicants meet the criteria. Once those are weeded out, you will prolly get an effective application ratio of about 1 in 100 or even less. |

The figure is even lower than I expected. The unemployment in Nigeria is beyond what can be estimated. Most people that you think are employed are even worse than unemployed people because their salaries are only enough for transportation and one meal a day. Such people would also apply for these jobs. Everybody wants a federal government job because it is the most secure 1 Like |
