FORMER Nigerian Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Yusuf Maitama-Sule, has expressed disappointment over Nigeria's failure to develop its politics, philosophy and economy.

Maitama-Sule, who bagged a Lifetime Achievement Award alongside a former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Christopher Kolade, at an annual dinner organised by the Academy for Entrepreneurial Studies in Lagos, also described the situation facing the country as "meaningless".

According to a statement in Lagos on Tuesday, the diplomat said present Nigerian leaders had betrayed the efforts made by the nation's founding fathers to bring orderliness and greatness to the country.

He said, "Honestly, everything in the Nigerian state has become meaningless. In short, today there is meaningless in philosophy, intellectualism, politics, immorality in the society, corruption in the economy, fraud in act, and lack of creativity.

"Nigeria today is not what it used to be. Our founding fathers made all efforts to give us foundation and dream that between the next 15 and 30 years, Nigeria will become a great country. But things have fallen apart. The family institution today has broken down. Respect for elders and constituted authority, which used to be a standing order in our society, has now become a wasted effort."

He, however, urged Nigerians to love one another, saying there was still hope in the country.

He added, "I remain optimistic. I believe that we shall overcome. I saw it in the past. In the First Republic, I saw so many crisis and we overcame. As we overcame those crises in the First Republic, so shall we overcome these crises in the present Nigeria by the grace of God."

the problem of Nigeria did not start today,The question is why are Nigerians crying most today and why has it taken Nigerians such a long time to wake up from the Slumber of life and see what some others saw 45 years ago ?

There are 3 Major people who killed the destiny of this Country

1. Nnamdi Azikiwe who did not have the fore sight to Opt out of an Independent United Nigeria
2. Nzeogwu who out of Blind Patriotism truncated the first republic that plunged the country into Civil war
3 Gowon who destroyed the foundation of Nigeria's founding fathers and opted to create worthess states that are now 36 Glorified LGAs
4 Olusegun Obasanjo who wasted Nigeria's most promising momnents in 1977 he blew Nigerias Golden Opportunity by Awarding Ajaokuta Contract to the Soviet Union against the IMF advice today Ajaokuta Nigeria's Biggest Potential is now an abandoned Project, Obasanjo wasted 8 Years in power removing Senate Presidents and PDP National Chairmen while not touching the NEPA C.E.O Joseph Makoju who sat upon the reformation of NEPA preferring a name change . Obasanjo was Minister of Petroleum and the Refineries never worked for a day preferring to import fuel from neighbouring countries, This man more than any other person in the history of Nigeria destroyed the destiny of Nigeria , he oversaw the introduction of Sharia and the beginning of Bokoharam choosing to believe blindly that it is political . OBJ it was who commited incest while in office against his son therefore desecrating Nigeria's highest office. OBJ over saw the worst census in the history of Nigeria and he started the worst anticorruption crusade where only his opponents were victimised and arrested. he it was who was responsible for use of soldiers to sack governors in Bayelsa, Plateau and Anambra.

Obasanjo rather than promote indigenous Enterprenuership embarked on the most senseless anti business policies against igbos by Closing and chasing igbo Businesses out of Nigeria like SLOK airline , Savannah Bank, Ibeto cement, Sosoliso Airlines.

Do not pay any mind to the fool that goes by the name Yusuf Maitama-Sule. He was one of the foot soldiers to Ahmadu Bello who canvassed for northern region for northerners. He supported a mere Lt Col to usurp the position of Head of State when there was a superior officer with the rank of Brigadier and second in command to the so-called missing Head of State. This moronic dingbat joined forces with ill-informed dullards to persecute a war against the group of people that wanted meaningfulness in philosophy, intellectualism, politics and creativity.

The innocence of Nigeria, the moronic Yusuf Maitama-Sule tried to reference, was killed in 1966, buried in 1967 and shall never resurrect. Nigeria will continue its steady slide on the slippery path of destruction.

Nigeria is an interesting country. Once anyone loses out in the power game, they come up with all sort of theories. Things have fallen apart indeed. as if Nigeria's woes started today!

That's a 64,000 dollars question, O!

Whilst most nigerians (North, West and Mid-west) will unanimousy agree that things went pear-shaped from january, ONLY the ibos

(East) will assert otherwise, claiming july as the moment when "things fell apart" in nigeria.

I guess there is always 2 sides to every story and the statute of majority opinions winning the day is somehow incomprehensible to

the inhabitants of the "Land of the rising sun". Hence our 46 years of perambulation (and still counting).

The typical indulgences in the act of loud mouthing and craving for the niche to propagate falsehood by the Yoruba peeps have deliberately identified them as irrelevant trolls. The moronic ninnies such Kadiri started by alleging the Ndigbo produced a song titled Ewu na ebe Akwaa to taunt the northern Muslims and Christians over the death of northern politicians killed during the January 15, 1966 coup.

When such ridiculous falsehood was debunked, the scoundrels generated another falsehood such as “Ndigbo circulated leaflets showing the picture of dead Balewa with a rooster perched on top”. The pictures of dead northern politicians killed during January 15, 1966 coup were circulated by New Nigerian Newspaper based in Kaduna and had Hausa dude as Chief Editor.

Don't mind them ojare........That's their stock in trade...........they go looking for trouble but when they

eventually get their just deserts , they start whinning like lil' bit.ches.

Am sure the ibos didn't see the video where Nzegwue was explaining to the bbc reporter how he caught up with the sardunna

hiding in the women's quarters and calmly shot him. Meanwhile, its instructive to note that the sardunna meant more to the malam

than either Awo or Zik meant to the yorubas and the ibos, respectively.

And the mofos didn't expect a backlash

So much for their much-acclaimed smartness!!!

That's correct, he did mentiin that in his interview. Typical Ibo genetic, he was beating chest and tooting his own horn about how he chased Bello and found him hiding amongst women before shooting him. A very dishonorable act for a professional soldier to divulge the condition of his opponent outside military corps. It goes to show he did not understand the Hausa culture. The Hausas may have not retaliated if the insult had only been limited to just the killings. What irked them was the fanfare and pomposity showing off and describing their victims in shameful and unacceptable manner.

It was a pinnacle of insults to murder the Prime Minister of the country, take picture of his corpse with a rooster (the party symbol of NCNC) perched on him and then dump that body in the woods. Not only were the Northerners insulted, Nigeria was insulted! ....but dede and his kinsmen believe they did nothing wrong. They claim it was a fight against corruption. and who nominated Igbo to be the anti-corruption brigade for Nigeria? yeye people.
