Is the bubble coming......fear, pride or greed? Are they monkey hunting? Experts your take....

https://trwstockbrokers./2018/02/24/can-the-nb-price-fall-continue/

If prices are elevated and investors don't want to buy, it will continue to fall until an equilibrium is reached. Sometimes it could be exacerbated by herd selling.

Once the low price is reached, you calculate your measure of safety, estimate your possible DY and possible price of a exit and then buy.

This is what the country needs now - there's a problem and some people found the solution....jobs, peace, profits etc. will follow with government support. #Hope

It is done in Anambra where an Ibo business man meets with the chiefs and sets up ranches deep inside the bush. The business man already has contacts with the Fulani business man for constant supply of cows. He employs Fulani herdsmen to help take the cows into the bush for grazing far away from farmlands. The community knows that the cows are assets of the Ibo man and the herdsmen are employees. No crop is eaten, and the villagers are at peace.

It should be in $ Billion and not in $ Million.

The shareholders funds should be in the region of over $1 billion, the market capitalisation of GTB should be more than the figure you quoted.

GTB has a market capitalisation of about N1 Trillion, do the math and convert to dollars.

Let's have some thing to think about as we enter into results week.

Between July 2017 and August 2017, NAFEX rate for foreign investors increased from N306 to N360 per $1. CBN Official rate is still N305 to N306. I think interbank rates have also gone up.

Banks that have FX loans and assets recognised gains on FX assets and loss on FX liabilities as at 2016 Year end. With the black market rates converging with the NAFEX rates and this NAFEX rates seems to be a benchmark for FX conversion now, what is the outlook for the performance of banks in 2017 Year end? We know those banks that recognised FX gains in the assets they had. What will be their fate now that they have put the FX assets to use at maybe 305 or 306? With the trending rates now, will they increase their exchange rate from 306 to 359/360(NAFEX rate)?

If they do, this should have big negative impact on their profitability.

There needs to be clarity on the impact of this 'devaluation' on the assets and liabilities of banks. In my opinion, those banks which did not raise Foreign currency funds after July 2017 may be hit by the impact of naira h USD movement from 306 to whatever (interbank or NAFEX rates).

Was that why GTB quickly settled the FX loans they had? Was that why Fidelity quickly settled the FX loans they had and got another one? Which other bank raised FX funds?

It will be interesting going forward.
