I have a question though: how can OMOLARA f Yoruba possibly Mean "born at the right time" in Yoruba?
Me thinks it means A child is family or a child is my family or my child is my family, but most definitely what the above indicated,

maybe I'm missing something here,

Thanks in advance.
Re: Nigerian Baby Names by Ilelobola: 2:57pm On Jan 14, 2009
Can anyone come up with a slightly different spelling for the name "Diekola-Oluwa" meaning the blessings of the lord are abundant.

I prefer more traditional names for children and really do like this one but don't like the Die in front of it. I know it's not the English word but if I name my child that, he/she might be bullied at school for the name as we are living in the UK. Thanks.

@ Efunlola
I'd think Efunlola means Efun is my wealth or something similar. Efun is a Yoruba deity.
Ogunseye might mean Ogun has given a reason to celebrate. Ogun too is a Yoruba deity.
Literal translations of course.
Re: Nigerian Baby Names by Efunlola: 7:13pm On Jan 14, 2009
@Ilelobola,

Thanks for the translation, Wow, I did not know that there was an Orisa "Efun" in Yoruba culture, Could you be referring to Orisa Obatala? Thanks in advance.

@ Efunlola
I'd think Efunlola means Efun is my wealth or something similar. Efun is a Yoruba deity. Efun is a CHALKY substance. Mineral soil if you want. However, the name Efunlola is certainly related to the household of the Obatala Deity. But your interpretation is correct. Efunlola = Efun is WEALTH
Ogunseye might mean Ogun has given a reason to celebrate. Ogun too is a Yoruba deity.
Literal translations of course.

Correct! That white substance use in decorating the body and used for whitening house wall in olden days is the thing called EFUN. It is a chalk like soil. Takum like, It an essential ingredient in the sacrilegial ceremony of OBATALA worship. It is itself NEVER a deity.
