Don't you just love Google! It is the tradition of Google to celebrate the important events and anniversaries of famous people by honouring them with a Google Doodle. Google on December 20, featured the “Brothers Grimm” with one of the longest animated Google Doodles. The longest doodle tells the story of one of the most well known Brothers Grimm stories of Little Red Ridding Hood. Introduction of Brothers Grimm: The two Grimm brothers, Jacob (1785–1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (1786–1859), were German academics, linguists, cultural researchers, and authors who together collected folklore. The two German brothers began collecting the best fairytales of their age. They gathered an array of stories involving princes and princesses, forests, castles and magic, but also darker sagas of cannibalism, dismemberment, murder and evil stepmothers. They are among the most well-known storytellers of European folk tales, and their work popularized stories as “Cinderella”, “The Frog Prince”, “Hansel and Gretel”, “Rapunzel”, “Rumpelstiltskin”, and “Snow White”. Their first collection of folk tales, Children’s and Household Tales, was published in 1812. Description of Brothers Grimm Google Doodle: The Brothers Grimm Doodle depicts the images of the “Story of Little Red Riding Hood”, a European fairy tale about a young girl and a Big Bad Wolf.
