Madueke Chukwuemeka Patrick had thought that security will be slack at Nigerian borders on Christmas day and could smuggle1.620 kilogrammes of high gradecocaine into the country.
But he was mistaken as he was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, southwest Nigeria with the drug concealed in his shorts. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, said today that the suspect was apprehended on Tuesday during inward screening of passengers on an Emirate flight at 3.26 p.m. He was returning from Sao Paulo,Brazil. NDLEA Commander at the airport, Mr Hamza Umar was quoted as saying: “During inward screening of Emirate passengers, Madueke Chukwuemeka was found to have hidden 16 parcels of cocaine in his inner wear. The cocaine weighing 1.620kg was carefully sewed on the shorts he wore on arrival. The case is underinvestigation.”
