Gud mawin pls I really need your help concerning this 3questions and pls its really urgent

1)The rate of change of a cylinder is 1.2cm^3/s.Given that the radius and the height at a point are 7.5cm and 10cm respectively. Find
a) the rate of change of the radius if the height is constant
b) the rate of change of the height if the radius is constant

2)As blood moves from the heart through the mahor arteries out to the capillaries and back through the veins,the systolic blood pressure continously changes. Conside a person whose systolic blood pressure P(in millimetres of mercury) is given as P=(25t+125)/(t^2+1) .......0<t<10where the t is measured in seconds. At what rate is the blood pressure changing 5seconds after the blood leaves the heart

3)Find the amount of medicine to which the body I'd most sensitive by finding the value of M that maximizes the derivative dR/dM where R=M^2(C/2-M/3) and C is a positive constant..also find the extreme sensitivities....tanx a lot...pls help me show the workings

hmmmm nt easy to type out o

here...

1) v=pi*r2 * h

dv/dr = 2*pi*r*h

dv/dt = dv/dr *dr/dt

=> 2*pi* h*dr/dt

=> 1.2 =2*22/7 *7.5*10*dr/dt

...finish up .

b) dv/dh = pi*r2

dv/dt =pi*r2 * dh/dt .

=> dh/dt = (1.2*7) /(22*7.52)

……finish up

2.) Given that p=(25t +125) / ( t^2 + 1 )

we have
dp/dt =[ (t^2 + 1 )(25) -(25t+125)(2t) ] / ( t^2 + 1 )^2

=> dp/dt = -(25t^2 +250t -25 ) / (t^2 + 1 ) ^2

= [-25(5)^2 -250(5) +25 ] /(5^2 +1 )^2

= -1850/676 . ....finish up .

3) R =m2 (c/2 - m/3 )

dR/dm = 2cm -m2 =0

=> m= 0 or m=2c

d2 R /dm2 = 2c- 2m

@ m=0

=> 2c -0 = 2c >0

since c> 0

hence m=0 is minimum , m=2c

d2 R/dm2 =2c -2(2c) =0

=> -2c<0
hence m=2c is maximum .

that's it dear , trust ur a maths queen . u should b able 2 decode sometinz..

Actually, my ogas have said it all.bt it depends solely on your background in further maths for you to be able to cope fully well with engineering maths by h.k. dass and s. chand, because of some do it yourself steps that they jumped in some solutions in that textbook. you can as well try to get engineering maths by K.A. Stroud in addition to h.k. dass for elementary references.

Nine x equals 3 raised to power x

3^x = (1+2)^x ....expand using binomial theorem. Note that 1^x =1.

I want to believe you can continue from there.

1)In how many ways number greater than 100 can

2) A committe of four is to be chosen from 5 editors and 3 reporters.in how many ways can this be done so that commitee includes
A)at least an editor.
B)at least one reporter.
Re: Nairaland Mathematics Clinic by jaryeh(m): 7:43pm On Oct 20, 2014
tuwayz:

Please solve it all showing all steps,

3^x = 9x
To simplify 3^x
3^x = (1+2)^x
= xC0. 1^x.2^0 + xC1.1^(x-1). 2^1 + xC2.1^(x-2).2^2 + ...
= 1 + x(x-1)!.2 /[(x-1)!.1! ] + x(x-1)(x-2)!.4/[(x-2)!.2!] + ....
= 1 + 2x + 4(x^2 -x)/2 + ....
= 1 + 2x + 2x^2 -2x = 1 +2x^2

By mere inspection, x is so small that higher powers of it are insignificant. That is why I've stopped the expansion at the 4th term.
Hence, 1 + 2x^2 = 9x
2x^2 - 9x +1 = 0
x = 0.1140

You can extend the expansion to get more values of x.

Find the value of k if y-1 is a factor of y^3+4y^2+ky-6
Re: Nairaland Mathematics Clinic by mathefaro(m): 7:13pm On Oct 21, 2014
tuwayz:
Find the value of k if y-1 is a factor of y^3+4y^2+ky-6
since y - 1 is a factor if f(y), then f(1) = 0. Which means substituting 1 for y in the given function and equating it to 0. Thus, we have
13 + 4(1)2 + k(1) - 6 = 0
==> 1 + 4 + k - 6 = 0
==> k - 1 = 0
K = 1

Pls answer dis question..
When is a sequence said to be bolzano waitress's? Also what is an open cover with example.
Also when is a metric space M said to have an "adherent point" , a subspace of a metric M
Thanks

A set S in a metric space has the bolzano Weierstrass property if every sequence in S has a convergent subsequence. i.e has a subsequent that converges to a point S.

OPEN COVER: Is the collection of open sets of a topological space whose union contains a given subset.
Example. an open cover of the real line, with respect to d euclidean topology is d set of all open intervals (-n,n) where n€IN.
