Tragedy Ends 2012 In Lagos As Truck Crushes Lady by Nobody: 9:20am On Jan 01, 2013
The First Gate bus stop, Tin Can Island Port, Lagos
yesterday witnessed a gory scene when a lady
simply identified as Esther was crushed to death
by a truck.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred
when some policemen stopped a commuter bus
driver and created a traffic jam while trying to
extort money from the driver.
The incoming truck it was learnt ran over the
deceased who was identified as a staff of North
Atlantic Agency, Tin Can Island, Apapa.
The lady reportedly died on the spot while the
policemen who allegedly caused the incident that
led to the accident fled the scene immediately.
Policemen from Tin Can Island Division arrived at
the area minutes later to carry the corpse of the
Edo State-born lady.
An angry mob attempted to attack the policemen
who shot severally in the air to disperse the
crowd, and successfully removed the corpse.
The driver of the truck that crushed the lady
reportedly fled the scene before he could be
apprehended by the angry crowd.
No word yet from the Divisional Police Officer,
DPO attached to Tin Can Police Division.
