I have come to a full realisation that i like light-skinned ladies far more than dark ones. However, the problem i have is that, all the light-skinned beautiful ladies i have met are all from another tribe. I and my siblings have no problem with any tribe. But my my parents and some elderly extended family members do. I want to marry and settle down but keep falling for light-skinned ladies from another tribe. I Almost talked to one i have been seeing in church today (and who gave me the green light)but i stopped because i feel that it is not right to start something you cannot finish (i.e., why ask a lady out when i know my people will not support me in marrying her) Pls help...

I will not describe my family people as tribalists. They relate well with people of this other tribe but will not allow their children to marry from there because they have reservations about the other tribe.

@OP.i feel your pain,wanting to marry from your tribe dosent make you tribalistic or shallow,i have married sisters,most are married outside our tribe,watching their lives have taught me that marrying same tribe makes tins a lot easier,our culture imprints in us more than we can imagine,especially people born and breed in a particular 1.
My problem with your post is the light skin part,are you marrying the skin? or the individual?,pls drop that mentality since you are actually looking 4 a lasting relationshp not some fling or show-off.
