yes i will agree with you obasanjo was compose for someone of his age.

but the fact remain, obasanjo is wrong that if nigeria divide something may go wrong. look nothing will go wrong..

If you look at the western niger for example.. the river niger divided us.. and 95% of the people of the western niger have never cross over the river niger .. So the north or east does not affect thier lifes.. the same 95% of northerners have never cross over the river..

How can people who have never been somewhere get affected..

Life will move on the same if nigeria break up as long as you use the river niger as the bordering..

On issue of resource.. international procedure can be followed.. if anyone tend to greedy, nigeria will loss alot of lifes.. So there is a need to share the oil wealth with the north if you want to avoid violent.. they will be happy to take money... nation help nation.

but you cant say because of oil money and risk the lifes of millions, it is too much risk. oil money is not worth the risks to more than 10 million lifes. you will end up like other africans.
