Imagine Atiku Abubakar punch a protester while on political campaign, what would an average Westerners call it?

Probably they will call it: This africa political office holders needs to grow up.

Similarly, If Atiku sleeps with his secretary, what would they call it?

The biggest scandal coming from England this week is about Deputy Prime minister, John Prescot's affair with his secretary which is rocking his 44 years old marriage.

this shows that the U.K is a politically decent society. where the elected officials are extra sensitive to the feelings of the public, contrasting embarrasingly with nigeria which has so deteriorated that it is no longer hidden for public officials to hang out with young girls and the public makes no fuss over it.

in another way, this shows that the british are also human(not infallible),instead of us to make unnecessary statements about mr prescott, we should focus on the fact that we can achieve whatever the british have achieved,unless we are less than human.

which of our ministers have faced this kind of pressure due to a scandal. that a minister was purported to have diverted money supposed to be used for road construction,even the president said so himself, yet nothing happens to the minister(or ex-minister)is an indication of the unbielievable decdence in accountability in our country.what could be more scandalous than that?

@kolawale,

pls do not think i'm in support of prescott. i'm not. can never. i only used this scenario to highlight some salient differences in the socio-political structure of U.K and Nigeria.

prescott should be ashamed of himself. and i guess he is. but if it were in nigeria, a minister in similar situation MAY not be ashamed of himself(especially if he is in the good books of the president) but may even be going about calling those who want him out "enemies of God" and using God's name at random as nigerian politicians are wont to do.
