The reason is we mistake religion for righteousness. Jesus didn't come to make us religious but to make us righteous and have a living relationship with our God.

Belief in God doesn't guarantee morality. What is required is a conscious effort on the part of the individual to make morally upright choices.

Correct. On the other hand, making morally upright choices doesn't make one a believer in God. We have "Christians" who act and behave as if God doesn't exist when you see what they think and do. The atheists who make good moral choices are not being consistent in their positions because morality comes from our Creator who made us in His own image. HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Some people are religious but are morally dead. It spares no one. We go to places of worship not because we desire it but because its a necessity or custom, and people may frown when we don't. Morality and integrity are synonymous. We do things right even when people are not watching.

So according to the last two posts morality dose not come from god or religion. Which means it must come from our upbringing & the enviorment we grow up in.

Morality comes from God. It is inbuilt in our consciences because our first parent was made in the image of God. This has been tarnished by sin but when we go back to the user manual we can discover the absolute Morality which our Maker designed for us.
