Real Family Palaver-whats Your Opinion. by Ginno567: 2:54am On Jan 11, 2013
Read this story with an open heart then let's hear your opinions:
Banjo is the first born in a family of seven.while in school Banjo helped his second brother Kongo secured admision in thesame university. After graduation Banjo tried to get a job but to no avail,so he decide to start his own business by doing contracts in gov. agencies nd parstatls in Abuja. As d first in d family Banjo tried his best 2 support his family as much as he could until his brother Kongo graduated 4 years later.During this 4 years Banjo tried to no avail 2 get a governmnt job, then six month later after Kongo completed his NYSC witout a job,Banjo got an opening in a gov. agency and decided that since he(Banjo) is doing well in his business, let Kongo take the gov. job since kongo had nothing doing nd was staying wit Banjo.Banjo also went ahead to use his money to pay for kongo masters since he has not been paid and made sure kongo was doing his masters with salary.hwever, after Banjo secured all this for his brother Kongo,Banjo business took a down slide.Banjo lost his car 2 armedrobbers and couldn't even raise cash to pay his rent.Banjo had to beg Kong to come help him facilitate a loan of 500k thgh his salary accnt to enable him pay his rent, which kongo did after so much pleading from Banjo and even d parent(infact kongo said d parent has to gv him the go ahead b4 he can collect d loan) 4 Banjo house rent.
Subsequently,Banjo later asked Kongo for 50k loan to enable him facilitate a small contract but Kongo blutantly refused even when Banjo knew he wz paid abt 400k by his office as salary arrears.kongo explanation wz dat he has other things to also invest his money too.
This hasn't gone down well with Banjo because he felt kongo shld hv helped him out and this has really put a strain in d two brothers relatnship to the extent dat they hardly call each other with Banjo feel'g he has d opportunity to hv taken the gov. job but decided dat kongo shld hv it because he felt kongo would help him out if things get rough but kongo disappnted him.
Kongo on the other felt he has his own responsibility to take care of and felt Banjo should sort himself out cos he is d cause of his own problem by womanizing and not planning his life.
Fellows in nairaland, your opinion is really needed for both parties because i can't seem to know what to do since am a friend to the family.

I don't see any thing you can do there, when he does not even listen to his parents.

Did Banjo paid d first 500k loan he got thru his brother's help.

If no, that is kongo's fear.
If yes, then, he should have learnt that is not necessarily the person you helped to get to d top that must help you when you are down. So, because he helped his brother to get a job now, does that means his brother should always help him back whenever he has problem, what if he couldnt actually afford it.
Btw, there is a mentioning there that he(banjo) uses his money for womanising and all sort of vain life enjoyment, i think he should have saved for d dry season like this and never thought of having someone to lean on when he seems to have problem.

However, kongo should try and help him again, considering what he(banjo)did for him, but should be wise about it.....something like explaining t him d responsibilities he also have on his shoulder as a man and also why he felt relunctant to do it before as regards his lifestyle and advise him to stop all his vain way of living, so that he can always have enough to save.
May God help us all.

This is the problem with doing favours/good and expecting some kind of reward from the beneficiary of what you did.
Humans being are unpredictable and unrelaible even if they are your sibling.
Banjo relied on Kongo as a fail safe
and instead,it failed him,undecided
You cannot force anyone to be responsible for troubles.
Besides, what if something terrible had happened to Congo sef and is incapable of helping at all?
Let Banjo find a way out of his mess without his brother.

I Just remembered the song #This is super story, a life of strife and sorrow# cry lipsrsealed...

In life, do not expect anything from anybody because people do change. Also, do not please others (including your blood relatives oo) at your own detriment. Just wondering why Banjo didn't take the government job and introduced Kongo (is that a real name undecided) to his business.
I hope things work out fine for him soonest cry
