Lagos Public Works Corporation Fixing Navy Town Road

The Navy town road (in Oriade LCDA ) in Lagos which has been in state of disrepair for a long time is now getting desired attention by the Lagos Public Works Corporation. We hope the road will stand the coming rainy season as the area is always flooded whenever it rains, due to blocked drainages in that area.
Parts of Old Ojo road were also fixed very late last year eliminating the notorious bad portion at alakija area down to oluti where they stopped, however there are still so many portions on that road that needs fixing

It is a well known fact that some section of the Oshodi-Apapa road was re-constructed and expanded recently by Julius Begger. The remaining part is being procured and will soon be awarded to Julius Begger or another reputable company to re-construct. But due to public outcry about deep potholes on the remaining section of the road, FERMA was called to fix those very bad portion to make it motorable pending when contract paper work and other details are completed. Isn't that the sensible thing to do in the circumstance? Why all the insults and abuses?

You have no shame that a major economic road like Apapa expressway is awarded and abandon by a government who claims Nigeria is being transformed.

Beside, was it not after Fashola letter the GEJ got to the press that we saw FERMA deceiving themselves with wheelbarrow and shovels on a major highway?

One sad thing about many of these so called road construction works completed/on-going is that the works if not abandoned, are substandard and the roads were never meant to last in the first place. Interestingly some of them are already returning to the bad shape in which they were, even as the politicians continue to tell how much 'work' they have done/are doing.

Common guys put more effort, that's my town u r talking about. I need good access road to zoom in my ride when next I'm coming to my town.

Yea, i agree; that day on that thread i also wondered why. I recall wondering why JB and Co who were reconstructing the road stoppd the work; and suggesting that that MAY hv had to do with d usual budgetary funding issues. Later on I found out that i was right, it was indeed funding and the Min of finance hv said the contractors wud be back nx wk (maybe they are now been funded) by SURE-P...... But that isn't d point am even making here: am disgustd by the shameless HYPOCRISM of sm persons. You cant call a tin 'patching' and ask us to condemn it, whilst later calling the same tin 'fixing' urging us to hail it. That's my concern. The FG ought to reconstruct and expand dat important road, and even ensure that trains that extends to the port work- this was d main point i made that day and still hvn't changd it
