Strive Masiyiwa: Made The First GSM Phone Call In Nigeria / GSM Phone User Guide (2) (3) (4)
Can You Remember Your First GSM Phone? by ferhyntorlah(f): 9:49pm On Jan 12, 2013 |
The Global System for Mobile Communications(GSM) came into Nigerian territory in 2001 and the telecoms industry experienced a massive revolution. While having a retrospect of the phones I've used over the years, my mind went to the first GSM phone I used, which was my first ever mobile phone. It was an Ecrisson A2628; a monochrome phone with an antenna and very compact in size. Phones then were usually big and heavy, with small screens and very funny ring tones. So I ask, can you remember yours? PS: You can attach a picture of the phone if you can to refresh our collective memories. Thank you! |

I can still remember my first phone, it was a pathetic Sendo 200 I bought from MTN's Abuja office. The silly phone had a habit of freezing without my knowing it, and it pissed me off on more than one occasion. I hated that phone...a lot. |
