its ok to be jealous of such things. If you have an issue with it, discuss it with your guy/girl.

I know I call some of my friends names [male and female] like sweetie and honey but I call them horrible names as well, all for no legitimate reason.

I can call my husbands bestfriend for "hon" as in honey ( Hey, hon, how are you? Long time. ),and I call his younger brother sweetie when we talk about serious things.

He calls my very bestfriend "hon" as well, but no one else, no.

@OP, I call that insecurity. Are you lacking in anything? If you feel inadequate, that's when ur partner's endearment words to friends will make you jealous. For me, I don't see nothing in it. I use it and I have married female friends that use same for me. I don't relate it to green light. Its pure endearment possibly because u mean so much to the individual, not in amorous way though.

grin Lol! Ur thread brought back a memory. I wldnt have a problem if my bf/spouse called platonic friends sweetie, dear etc...but if he considers me different/special then he shldnt call me that as well....cause then I just become one of his 'dears' wink.
