What Punishment Does Hazard Deserves? by Hardeydamola(m): 10:44am On Jan 24, 2013 |
Eden Hazard was shockingly dismissed in Chelsea's Capital One Cup semi-final with Swansea on Wednesday night, after he kicked a ball-boy, who refused to return the ball to play. The youngster laid on top of the ball as it drifted out of play and failed to move as the Belgian went to retrieve the ball. Hazard reacted by attempting to kick the ball out from underneath the ball-boy, also catching the boy in the ribs, prompting Chris Foy to brandish a red card. The incident personified the Blues' frustrations in the game as a meandering 0-0 draw resulted in their elimination from the competition following a 2-0 defeat to the Swans in the first leg. A Twitter account, believed to be that of the ball-boy, suggested that he had planned to use time- wasting tactics if the ball reached him during the game. Could that lead to hazard being forgiven and let off with a punishment? Yohan Cabaye was forced to apologise after clashing with a ball-boy in Newcastle's loss at Everton last season, although he was not reprimanded during the game. Should Hazard only face a similar punishment? The Belgian was dismissed during the game, presumably for violent conduct which carries an automatic three-match ban. A famous case that comes to mind is that of Eric Cantona, who was banned for an initial eight months after his kung-fu kick on a Crystal Palace fan. It could be argued that hazard's case is not to dissimilar to this famous one. The Frenchman's suspension was eventually shortened after he agreed to partake in community service, could the Belgium international benefit from spending some time working among the general public? What punishment does the Belgian deserve? Should he be forgiven due to the ball-boy's actions?Although the boys parent aint Interested in Charging Hazard for Criminal Charges Since Harzard and the boy have Made Peace. The Footballing community have also kept blaming the boy for wasting time in a Match of that Tempo. Have ur say wat punishment does Hazard Deserves?Eden Hazard was shockingly dismissed in Chelsea's Capital One Cup semi-final with Swansea on Wednesday night, after he kicked a ball-boy, who refused to return the ball to play.
