Awhile back, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR), President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, announced the change of name of the University of Lagos (Unilag) to Moshood Abiola University (quickly dubbed "Maulag" ). There were a lot of kicks, particularly from within the university itself. Some people even went to court. But the Federal Government made it clear it would not budge and the NUC said it was prepared to effect the name change. It became a matter of who would blink first.

However, nothing has been heard of the matter in recent times. What has happened? Has any of the two sides - FG and the university - blinked? Is the school now Unilag or Maulag?

Just what I wanted to ask. I think that since the federal govt didn't come out again to back down on their decision may be its still standing. But we shall like to know the recent students who did clearance there to talk to us here the letter head their result slip had.

Also new year 1 students from the admission letter of the school can also confirm to us if its Maulag or Unilag?
