STUDENTS AND CULTISM, WHO SHOULD BE BLAMED? After the matriculation ceremony of the kwara state polytechnic yesterday,a student was shot dead by some cultists in the school. According to the report, the cult group that shoot the student aimed a different target, but after killing this victim, they discover he his not their target, meaning he his innocent. In recent time, several students have been killed in kwara state by cultist. My concern is that, who should be blamed for students cultism? Why would students be killing each other in the name of cultism? This is unacceptable.

Society...its failing our youth. Society...the breakdown of our family system.

Also, they're learning from their leaders...who killed Bola Ige? Funsho Williams etc...

The cycle would continue until something gives.

Nigerians are products of their society so, I will blame the notoriety of Nigeria society for cultism.Student unionism as created by Soyinka and co wasn't a cult group until it was hijacked by some forces to perpetrate evils. It's there and it has come to stay.

My only advise to new students or other novices is to avoid cultism cuz the bad has outweighed the good of it.

students are to be blamed. Cos one is a product of ones choice. Nobody forces another person to be initiated into a cult if one comports oneself and act justly. It is a matter of choice.

Some lecturers are also involved and have use their positions to coerce students into joining cult groups.Cult activities go beyond the students as its ripple effects is evident in the society at large.Almost every politician in Nigeria belongs to one cult or the other.

Just like the case of the innocent victim,he isn't a cultist, yet he was killed. There are several others like him

Undergraduates in nigeria tend to think like thugs, like the leaders.

They dont look forward to bright and innovative future like normal students will do,but instead they look forward to bleak and crooked future that has becomes norms in nigeria society.

parents should take the blame cos charity begins at home.
however, you find out that most of these cult boys come from a broken/dysfunctional homes. the ones who have regular parents have been abused or have seen one or both parents abusing each other. some are not even shown enough love and attention at home - thus they go to school and join any association that offers them protection and care. the acute poverty plus the crippling economy have also made it difficult for parents to spend more time with their children.....
