GSM 850 / 1800 / 1900 - Nokia 8801 for US


those are the bands supported by the phone model (bolded)


Nigerian networks support for 2G 900 / 1800 MHZ; for 3G 2100 MHZ


however coverage differs from place to place.

but the nigerian telcos dont have radios for all bands everywhere.in some areas they will have just 900 MHZ or 1800 MHZ. some areas both

if u leave your area to another, you may find that the mtn or airtel line will have network. that will be because they have 1800 MHZ network around that area.

i know this personally because i used to own a USA samsung phone that got only glo signal. in a bid to make it work, i damaged the phone.

ironically then when i get to computer village, it would see mtn service. immediately i left ikeja, no service until i switch to Glo. they chopped my money weeeellll



in other words your phone will only work on 1800 MHZ. there is no magic that will make it work unless u change the radio antenna of the fone. for that u will go to Nokia factory in helsinki, finland
