I don't think i agree with you on that one. Guy, Na wa to you oooo.
I can't say if I have any but a friend is seeking to publish one of my poetic stories (not The Convict) soon.

I'm sorry I can't take up Cuddlemii"s spot cuz I'm always on the move, i.e I travel a lot and the task requires adequate concentration and composure (which are like gold to me aside working). I think I'm better of as a participant.

But I trust you can handle the contest very well judging from the passion you have for poetry and the way you handled the weekly contest before the Nairaland Tsunami
I'm no where in proximity to handling that, even though I might love to. I'll initiate poetry collaborations as soon as I'm off the hook. Pls inform me whenever it's published. Pardon my clumsiness, na d fone wey I dey use o

Many Rappers are master poets and word engineers.

Ok. You could be right here. "Many" may have been going a bit too far.

Ifemi, Pride of My Youth

Ifemi,
Your face, nature’s hand-painted;
That which wondrous God affords.
At your sight, dawn blushes
Your majestic entrance betrays the potency of darkness.
Eyeballs that burn scary
Burst out in passion desire;
Longing to see under the dress.

Razor blade lips turn blunt
At the touch of your sensual lips
Bringing down all ecstasies…

With each step, earth implodes
Castles shrink as you approach
Skyscrapers a step to where I am

To me you are coming
As beautiful and mighty-full
Mine you are to forever keep.

Here she comes,
To cast the veil of her soul away
And lay bare all for me to behold…

Ifemi, my teenage love
That lingered ’till today
One of blossoming blooms of beauty

A passionate glance my eyes stole
Your real beauty will I see unbridled
Any other who sees, be blind’d

My breathe your skin will it caress
The fragrance of your feel will I perceive
Any other who smells, be poison’d

Ifemi, mine you are!
With you will our brig sail the mighty ocean
To the limpid future we’ll steer our course.

It is called 'Free verse' (I think) sad

The undertaker prepped him voguishly
Like there was a party six feet below
The earth where anosmic maggots
Were tamed by steep fragrance

He is dead, he is dead
Of what use is a tinseling treasure
To the naively rich sands?

The gold plated casket glitters
In the mourner's eyes
How classy is death in its house?

A gang of aggrieved groupies
Hallowed to a one time
Shylock-baron unleashes its ruckuses
At the swanky funeral

They teemed tiny shell
At the casket and in a tick
The casket transmuted into
A gold plated basket

He is dead, he is dead
The bullets ran its errands
Through and through
But death was poker faced

The deceased wife face streamed
Down tears...The triumphant groupies
Prod the remains for mockery

Until wee in the day
When the police came for a sweep
The shylock-baron was in a feast-
Romance with the houseflies...
Until the groupies dispersed

He is dead, he is dead
He who dies once is lucky
But he who dies again has lost his soul
And would be damned

What was his crime?
That he was having
More than he needs.

Sincerely, I don't know what to name this poem.
