Stephen Keshi has reverted to the traditionally 4-4-2 Nigerian system, as the Super Eagles face Elephants of Ivory Coast in the third quarter final of theNations Cup in South Africa. Keshi had toyed with a 3-5-1 and 4-3-3 formations in the previous Super eagles matches, as he tried to find a pattern the players can be comfortable with. Torrid time Now, with Fegor Ogude suspended, and Nosa Igiebor out of sorts so far in this tournament, Keshi has gone back to 4-4-2.
Ogenyi Onazi, who had a torrid time against Zambia in an
unfamiliar role as a right back, is restored to his place in
midfield. The other midfielders are John Obi Mikel, who will likely sit deep, and Sunday Mbah, who will likely push up a bit with Onazi likely to be in the hole behind the two strikers. Victor Moses, who scored a brace against Ethiopia, will be the wide man who will attempt to stretch the defence of the Ivoriens.
Keshi has also opted to start Brown Ideye in attack,alongside Emmanuel Emenike.
