The word SIN simply means (simple instruction neglected) God has instructed us to abstain from adultery, failure to do that becomes a sin.

Another error of understanding due to misuse of language with the word LUST. Lust does not mean a s.exual desire(which is comparable to hunger). Lust is the desire to own or posses, as in a property.

Words like LUST and PASSION are now misused to mean s.exual urge.

There's been a lot of mistranslations due to writers trying to input an opinion to what the scripts rather than simply translating. This is why I prefer the New American Standard Bible: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_American_Standard_Bible" for having the most literal, word-for-word rendering of bible scripts, without trying to conform to any cultural or politcal correctness in use of language. They simply write literally as they see it.

I can see that you are doing everything to promote and justify sex between consenting Christians. But the question is are you really on point or you have gone tangent to the meaning of the word.

Fornication is used in the Bible to refer to two types of sin. In its most literal sense, fornication refers to any violation of God’s laws regarding sexual behavior. But fornication on a spiritual level refers to pagan idolatry such as that practiced by the nation of Israel which was pictured as God’s wife in the Bible.

In the Old Testament the English word “fornication” is used to translate the Hebrew word “Zanah” which refers to all types of sexual immorality.

Here is a literal use of zanah speaking of a violation of God’s law’s regarding sex:

“20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:

21 Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the LovePeddler[zanah] in her father’s house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.” – Deuteronomy 22:20-21 (KJV)

Can there be tokens of virginity after a consensual sex?
Isn't this implying that unmarried people shouldn't have sex?

I was amused with your narrow definition of ponea to include incest, rape and prostitution. And your loose definition of "consensual" in your posts.
Isn't sex with a prostitute consensual?
Apart from the payment in cash or kind, how is it different from sex between consenting Christians? Are you saying that its the act of payment for sex that is actually the sin and not the sex itself?

The context of the word pornea cannot be thrown out. In generic sense, it means Zanah (Arabic: Zinna). The closest English word would be sexual immorality. Even Muslims will not redefine the meaning of Zinna to mean anything other than fornication.

I hope you are not encouraging Christians to legalize Zanah?

@ ignatio , @Goshen360

There is never a word to word correspondence between any two languages.

Eg,
In Yoruba language,
Oluwa, fun mi ni Owo Tutu.
Would literarily mean
Lord, give me Cold Money.

But, the closest literal interpretation is:
Lord, give me cool money
By contextual meaning, it would mean
Lord, give me wealth without stress

You can't just slam Strong's on the scriptures and assume you have done justice to understanding the word.
