Job Interviews. - The Makeup Dilemma This thread is for female job seekers. When attending a job interview, what kind of make up do you think is appropriate, and which one do you think is too much? A little powder? A little gloss? Full blown make-up red/pink lipstick? Or nothing at all? PLUS what colours are appropriate to wear? Are colours like orange, yellow, red absolute No-Nos? And what of gowns? Are they okay or must it be suits? |

Light make-up of course! light eyeshadow, brown powder, blusher(if you like) mascara will do. If you have nice lips and the company is a reputable coy where you won't be asked for sex before job, you can finish it up with moderate red lipstick to make you appear bolder, and more confident. Don't forget to smile unprovocatively at your interviewers. 3 Likes |

Normal makeup is okay but excluding eye shadow, and corporate wears too will go with it. You must not dress like a masquerade all in the name of job seeking............ |

@ OP: I believe this is your first job interview? Well my own belief is moderation, no loud make up or clothing. I perfer Trouser Suit(it makes you look smarter and taller if you are short. Best colors you cant go wrong on are black, grey or navy blue. This can be paired with white, baby pink, skyblue or grey camisole/inner shirts as the case might be). Then skirt suit of same color category. Be careful not too wear too short or too long/lousy skirts and if you've got yammy or hairy legs(like me ) better to hide them under a trouser. These options keep you in safe mode. Pink lipgloss or nude color depending on your complexion, light gold eyeshadow, nude color eyeshadow or light pink eyeshadow is okay. Above all, your best apparel is confidence! Good luck!! 1 Like |

mummy3: very light makeup, no painting of red nails, if you're wearing a shirt let it be cool colours like sky blue, pink, cream, white not orrange or lemon or red. Good luckIt depends on the kind of job o! There are some jobs where you need to to look hot (but not provocative) and things like nicely done hair, nails, and stylish make-up, finished with a good command of English language, graceful and elegance poise will work more wonders than your qualifications! In fact, some companies will not employ you for some job roles if you do not appear stylish no matter what's in your CV. That's why I adviced the Op to dress according to the job role. For instance, a Customer Relationship Officer for most banks, oil coys, and other big companies, must appear stylish. Most front desk officers at shipping companies are stylish. But the bottom line is being moderate but stylish. |

Nude make-up. It gives a natural look but you still have make-up on. Easy on the foundation, you dont want ur face looking whiter than all parts of your body. |

Very light make-up my dear, light concealer/foundation, brown powder, light eye shadow(must go with your complexion),very light pink or red lip stick would do. Also, no matter the company, be corporate and elegant. dont forget those smiles and be as polite and humble as u can be. all the best. |
