President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday advised graduates who just concluded their national service to the nation to stop looking for white collar jobs. Rather, Jonathan imploredthem to focus their minds towards self relianceand wealth creation.
The president’s speech, which was read by the Ondo State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Alhaji Yekini Olanipekun,at the passing-out ceremony of the 2012 Batch ‘A’ corps members in Akure, said his administration introduced skills acquisition programmes to make Nigerian youths self employed.
“The present administration remains focused on youth empowerment, which will be pursued using the platforms of the Sure-P; You Win and other programmes. I therefore implore you to cooperate and support this administration to reduce the current level of unemployment,” he said.
He added that the Federal Government, under an arrangement with the United Nations Development Programme will recruit young professionals that will work on a variety of UN programmes.
The NYSC coordinator in the state, Mr. Isiaka Kuoye, also advised the out-going corps members to learn skills that will make them self reliant.
He said 12 out of the 1, 946 corps members, who had proved themselves to be worthy ambassadors, will receive awards and commendations from the agency.

I don't understand why people find it so hard to believe that there is no job out there. To me I will advise everybody should take there time and research on the internet what business they can venture into. Not #5M startup but just start selling something. We are already in trouble in dis country cos of bad behaviors and decisions of our past leaders, now forget the past WHAT CAN YOU DO AT DIS PRESENT TIME? And people have the guts to ask why are young people not getting married, how can you get married when you are jobless. After NYSC you will stay in your parents house for the next 10years searching for chevron ,shell and zenith bank job. I just have dis feelings that one day the youths are going to go crazy and start killing any government officials.

No problem oga Jonathan, but can u answer all this questions.
1) what facilities have u put in place to make the enviroment more friendly and encouraging for the youth to stop looking 4 job.
2) What is there to motivate them to go into self reliance, when police pension boss is richer than mr innocent who manufacture innoson motors.
3) what have u done to remove all the administrative bottleneck that makes it dificult for common youth to stand on is own eg if u want to start a food processing company like packaging garri NAFDAC will give unrealistic condition hoping that u will come and bribe them also CPC, SON, MAN etc will also line up to frustrate you.

4) At 13% to 30% intrest rate loan 4rm our banks under this unfriendly business enviroments is an hypertensive money which is not realistic. What have u done about that? Ur YOU WIN programe is mered by political theives who gives it to their children and girlfriends.
5) What have u done to encourage cosumption of local product e.g while government use TOYOTA as official car which give TOYOTA billions income and we have LOCAL MANUFACTURED CARS begging 4 attension.
IF U CAN ANSWER ALL THIS QUESTIONS, U AV CREATED JOBS FOR ALL NIGERIAN GRADUATES AND U WILL SEE THAT MANY WILL NOT LOOK FOR JOB.
