Afam4eva: I've noticed that the title of Yoruba traditional rulers always sound like the town that they govern eg Oluwo of Iwo, Olota of Ota etc.

In what state is Iwo? I think i've heard about that place before.
Oyo State

And now the tussle begins for another Oluwo. I had my respect for the late Oluwo for his humane nature, but in addition to these qualities I hope the town settles for a renowned king this time around so that the town can regain her rightful position in Osun and Yoruba land as a whole. i think late Prince Alade Lamuye was a king the town never had. May their gentle souls both RIP.

Despite the brouhaha surrounding his coronation, (tadase, he is not from a ruling house)! He was able to steer the town to greatness!
Silenced the Mujahideens that placed 'welcom to the islamic town of iwo), reconciled them with the Egungun pple!
And gave an enabling environment for the Xtians and bowen!!

He is a great man!!

I just need someone to tell me the importance of the traditional chief system we still practice
They are entitled to statutory allocation, lands and everything
meanwhile they have always to be used to stifle dissent and foment political turmoil
