A new political group with membership drawn from the nation’s crop of prominent politicians, has been formed. Chaired by the former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, the group parades an array of over 200 politicians in the country. According to a report by The Eagle Online, they include Senator Gbemisola Saraki who is the vice chairman of the group, Akin Osuntokun (Secretary), a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nuhu Ribadu; former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odein Ajumogobia (SAN); and former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party,
Chief Olabode George. Others are Ambassador Fati Abubakar, Nigeria’s former High Commissioner to Ghana, Ambassador Musiliu Obanikoro; a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode and Chris Uche (SAN), Lawal Shuaibu, human rights activist, Uba Sani; Senator Umar Argungu, Olusegun Awolowo, Hon. Uche Ekwunife, and Hon. Yemi Arokodare. Though yet without an official name, the group that started with 37 members, has been meeting as a non-partisan political organization with the aim of instituting good governance and ensuring the unity of the country.
Sources stated that it has met at least five times in the last few months, in the house of a senatorin Maitama, Abuja, adding that the attendance increased with every subsequent meeting. It was gathered that at the latest meeting on Wednesday, over 200 prominent politicians were in attendance. It was learnt that the last five meetings have been used to discuss the state of the nation, especially the issue of insecurity. A source within the group said: “We are concerned about total leadership. We are concerned about the wellbeing of Nigerians and how the leadership treats the followers.”
To achieve this, the group, initially known as the G-37, has formed several committees. They include Mobilisation committee that is chaired by Fani-Kayode, with Senator Grace Bent as his deputy; the Finance committee headed by Fafa Dan Princewill; the Media committee chaired by Senator Emmanuel Onwe, with Prof Mahmud Jega as vice chairman; and the Committee on Strategy and Research with Nuhu Ribadu as its chairman.

2015 is gradually taking shape but unfortunately we the innocent people will suffer neglect henceforth. This is clearly PDP splinter group. GEJ has called bluff his former backers and they need a platform to show him 'who run this hood'. GEJ is deconstructing PDP with the hope of reconstructing it to his taste before 2015 elections and considering the enormous powers vested on the President as the Party Leader the anti-2nd term PDP war-lords have come-up with a Plan B. With all these intrigues and machination to attend to I dont see this GEJ-led government delivering any meaningful people-oriented development before the expiration of its tenure. With OBJ (and Others) drawing out their swords against GEJ (and loyalists) we are officially abandoned to fate. GEJ seems to be banking on Mimiko to launch a new SW-PDP but he has failed to see the fact that even SW-PDP members that loath OBJ so much are 'not happy' with GEJ 'treatment of SW-PDP'.
My prediction is that this group will be openly and secretly sponsored by 'racalcitrant' PDP Govs, OBJ's Millionaires, and other agriefed PDP war-lords while they will still stay back in PDP to 'give GEJ hell'. Then on the final days they will all leave the near-empty vessel for GEJ. GEJ will definitely 'fight back' the way he did in preparation for 2011 PDP selection. No sacrifice will be too much to get a 2nd nod- any oppositions ready to drop the sword will be made Millionaires, so much cash would be doled out to everyone that counts and all meaningful development efforts will be abandoned as usual.

The only person who gets it here 100%. Well done to you sir. Kalu is well known for these sort of unbelievable antics to the extent I am even shocked anyone can discuss this senseless garbage. The man is an outcast rejected by virtually all Parties everywhere and now , by force, wishes to align himself with credible names.

Is this not how Kalu, when he wanted to run for the Presidency several years ago, put an article in the public domain that ridiculously claimed Kalu was the candidate supported for the Job by the USA because he "had structures on the ground already" ? Logic-defying propaganda from a sidelined and irrelevant politician.
