Y'al should calm down as this has nothing to do with Nairaland getting hacked. This kinda attack is known as Dns Cache poisoning. Etisalat's DNS caching servers which later redirected web traffic to my.naij has been poisoned. Cache poisoning is when one with malicious intents sets up an authoritative name server, then baits a Dns cache server by making it request information from the authoritative name server. Y'al might ve to do the ipconfig /dnsflush after Etisalat must have resolved the problem 1 Like |

Definitely not a Nairaland hack because I don't have the problem visiting Nairaland its when I visit google.com.ng . Its Etisalat that has the problem and I asked someone here who said they were fixing the problem if he is Etisalat staff and he surprisingly said no that he is Nairaland staff.  I have sent mails to Etisalat about it. I suggest those that use Etisalat here should also bombard them with the complaints too so that they sit up. Their network is the most flagged/reported network in Nigeria for spam and malware. |

Some weeks ago, I opened a thread in 'Computer' section about Etisalat network failing to open facebook but lot of people ignored the thread. I knew something was wrong with their DNS servers. You can only access facebook through secure browisng (https) on their network. Sometimes when you visit Yahoo or google it will load a blank page with the message 'No site configured at this address'. I've mailed etisalat frequently and they keep insisting nothing is wrong with their network. With this latest development, I think I'm vindicated. I need a reliable proxy server configuration. I'll appreciate if anyone can help. |

pistis: U can use a proxy for now to assess NL.it will def.bypass the DNS poisoning targeted at d gateways used by Nigerians...even with d same Etisalat line...meanwhile d "geeks" at EMTS can try IP restriction/block on dos suspected redirected sites....temporarily while d issue is analysed. how do you use a proxy?? |

Check ur connection /security/network setting (sori can't confirm for u,using a phone now) of ur BROWSER...check d box "use a proxy"...now u can use some free proxy servers(its just an IP add.dt routes ur queries thru dat particular IP...)Online (just google "free proxies"  ...input d IP in ur browsers proxy security/netwrk settings.plendil: |

this is what worked for me: 1. stop the loading when it reaches the "hobatoba" page (before my.naij) 2. Uncheck the "remember me" box 3. refresh hope it works for you! |
