Latwoka , a tribe in Sudan has a very weird marriage tradition. If a guy wants to marry a girl,he kidnaps her. After the kidnapping, elderly people of his family goes to the girl’s father and ask for her hand.

If girl’s father agrees he beats the guy as a symbol of acceptance and if he doesn’t agree, the kidnapper marries the girl forcefully.
Now all the girls should thank God, they are not born in Latwoka.

So what do you think about this weird culture? Abolish or keep it?

there is an ethiopian tribe where the young women/girls are literally beaten by the young men with swtiches and sticks during a ceremony to celebrate their journey to manhood.

im a western gal who wouldn't take that! but it's part of their culture so..more power to them.

That's quite an interesting tradition. I was just thinking that why the hell will the father of the bride reject the proposal if the guy is still going to marry the girl anyways? The "groom" still wins either way. Plus the father-in-law passes up a free beating, while his daugther is forced into marriage.
